When Josh York created GYMGUYZ in 2008, it was the first brand of its kind to go to market, leading him to make the decision to begin franchising the concept in 2014. He retained No Limit Agency that year to launch GYMGUYZ in the local and national media. NLA implemented a strategic development and media plan for the brand, starting with securing press in York’s home market of Long Island before moving on to key cities for development. As York sold franchises, No Limit Agency jumped in and leveraged the people behind each location to secure consistent press in that local market and in nearby markets that were earmarked for growth. NLA has been persistent in extracting stories about franchisees, personal trainers and clients to tell to the media, as well as leveraging topical news stories to connect to the brand.
Alongside this local media strategy is a laser focus on national media exposure. The brand’s unique concept and vibrant founder, along with NLA’s strong media contacts and ability to inject its clients into the news cycle, has led to many national wins for GYMGUYZ in national consumer and business television, print and online outlets.
No Limit Agency also built the GYMGUYZ franchise development site to highlight the most important information to attract quality franchise candidates.
GYMGUYZ now has franchises in more than 70 territories with immediate plans to grow that figure to 100 territories nationwide.
